Hack For Change: Miami

Hack For Change: Miami is helping build a community of civic innovation in South Florida. A wide variety of individuals and organizations have come together to foster a culture of open government, civic engagement, sustainability and technology for good.

Miami-Dade County + Open Data

The National Day of Civic Hacking is bringing together thousands of civic hackers on June 1st and 2nd.
"Throughout the world, governments are making collections of public data more easily available and consumable on the Web. The type of data posted, called Open Data, is varied and includes information about where taxpayer money is being spent and statistics on just about every aspect of government. This openness has enabled citizens to have greater visibility to the workings of their local, state, and federal agencies."
These are some of the Miami-Dade County Challenges which will take the spotlight on June 1st:

  • Miami-Dade County Universal Submission of Problem reports
  • Miami-Dade County Visualization of Service Request Data
  • Code2sustain challenge from Martin to Monroe County
We are looking forward to inspire and be inspired by the value of Open Data in our community. Let us work together in making Miami a leader in digital innovation.
